Welcome to my blog. I am a 20 something gal living in a midsized city in the Midwest. I recently stumbled across some blogs in the personal finance domain and they really opened my eyes to a whole new world. I have some student loans and a car loan, but I had never worried much about them. I used to think that everyone in the world has such loans and merrily spent my pay away. I have now come to terms with my debt and have begun taking some steps to pay them off soon and set a savings plan in place. But I don’t want to just eat ramen in the meantime, I believe it’s possible to have fun and pay down debt. I hope that this blog will chronicle the path I take to debt freedom and the fun little things I do inbetween. 🙂

I feel that most of my pay is just frittered away and not put to good use. I chose the title “Her Every Penny” because I feel that every penny in my paycheck must be accounted for. I don’t have a problem with spending, but I have a problem with money slipping through the cracks. This way I am reminded to budget and account for all my monies.

  1. I found your page on “My Pretty Pennies”. Your story sounds a little like mine. Three years ago I graduated with a Master’s, bought a new car and owed credit card companies money. I look forward to following your story.

    Good Luck to you!

Thank you. I am hoping this blog would keep me more accountable and help me pay off the debt soon. More than anything it feels good to talk about money in the open! Most of my friends wouldn’t understand and still think debt is a way of life.

  2. Hi, nice to meet you !
